United Orthopedics Ltd Launches the United Academy to Advance Surgical Excellence in Hip & Knee Arthroplasty

Publié le 10 August 2026 in News

United Orthopedics Ltd is proud to announce the launch of the United Academy – a purpose-built centre of learning excellence dedicated to advancing orthopaedic education, strengthening surgical expertise and improving patient outcomes across the UK.

Opening in Autumn 2026 at United Orthopedics’ UK headquarters in the heart of the East Midlands, the United Academy has been created to provide a collaborative environment for hands-on training, peer-to-peer learning and evidence-based education in hip and knee arthroplasty.

Designed for consultant orthopaedic surgeons, registrars, fellows and theatre teams, the Academy will deliver practical, faculty-led education using United Orthopedic implant systems. Through expert instruction and real-world surgical training, delegates will develop the confidence, technical skills and clinical knowledge needed to perform safe, reliable and high-performing joint replacement procedures.

Malcolm Pearson, UK Commercial Director at United Orthopedics Ltd, said:

“The United Academy has been created with a clear purpose: to provide a centre of excellence where orthopaedic professionals can continue to develop their knowledge, refine their surgical techniques and learn from leading experts in the field.

By investing in education, collaboration and innovation, we’re ultimately investing in better outcomes for patients. The Academy represents an exciting new chapter for United Orthopedics and our commitment to supporting the orthopaedic community across the UK.”

The launch of the United Academy marks a significant milestone in United Orthopedics’ ongoing commitment to supporting clinical excellence. The programme has been developed around practical learning experiences, including live surgical demonstrations, cadaveric training, technical workshops and collaborative case discussions, creating opportunities for delegates to enhance their skills at every stage of their surgical careers.

Guided by the principles to Innovate, Collaborate and Educate, the Academy aims to become one of the UK’s leading orthopaedic training centres, helping clinicians deliver greater surgical precision, improved confidence and enhanced patient outcomes in hip and knee arthroplasty.

The inaugural education programme will be the Complex Arthroplasty Revision Education (C.A.R.E.) Programme, delivered at the Keele University School of Medicine. This advanced, faculty-led cadaveric course focuses on the complexities of revision knee arthroplasty, including the use of rotating hinge systems and distal femoral replacements.

Led by an experienced faculty of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons Mr Steven Millington, Mr Thomas Moores and Mr Amit Patel, the programme provides delegates with practical surgical insights and advanced techniques to support the delivery of high standards of patient care.

The C.A.R.E. Programme will take place on:

Monday 7 September 2026
Tuesday 24 November 2026

Venue: Keele University School of Medicine
