Taiwanese based leading international designer, manufacturer, and distributor of versatile orthopedic solutions for joint replacement implants have announced that they will be partnering with Pixee Medical to pioneer a new venture.
The Pixee Medical company was founded in October 2017 with the goal of creating high-performance, computer-assisted surgical solutions using existing advanced computer vision and artificial intelligence technologies, while remaining affordable amid the challenging health system environment. They have created the first computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery solution using augmented reality and will be collaborating with United Orthopaedic to introduce their innovations to surgeons throughout Europe.
Malcolm Pearson, Commercial Director for UK & Ireland said – “I am thrilled to be collaborating with Pixee Medical, particularly on their Augmented Reality Navigation for Total Knee Arthroplasty which will offer orthopaedic surgeons intraoperative assistance for the implant positioning with the help of augmented reality glasses. I can see this being of real benefit to surgeons performing operations using our U2 knee system – a comprehensive system designed to allow surgeons to address straightforward primary to complex revision knee arthroplasty”.
United Orthopedic will be starting conversations with surgeons in the UK in partnership with Pixee Medical from June 2021 and urge those interested to get in touch via the United website or via email. Details of which can be found below.
